Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
1 small head of cabbage, chopped
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (or fresh, diced)
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (or oregano)
Salt and pepper to taste
Olive oil
Optional: shredded cheese for topping
Instructions:
Cook the Beef:
In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat if needed.
Add Aromatics:
Add the chopped onion and garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onion is soft and translucent.
Incorporate Cabbage:
Stir in the chopped cabbage. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage starts to wilt.
Add Tomatoes and Seasoning:
Pour in the diced tomatoes (with juice) and add paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
Simmer:
Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
Serve:
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. If desired, sprinkle with shredded cheese before serving.
