Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 bag frozen tater tots (about 32 oz)
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (optional, for garnish)
PREPARATION:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the Ground Beef:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until the onion becomes soft.
Drain any excess fat.
Prepare the Sauce:
Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper into the skillet with the beef. Simmer the mixture for a few minutes, allowing it to combine and thicken slightly.
Assemble the Casserole:
In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spread the beef mixture evenly on the bottom.
Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese over the beef mixture.
Layer the frozen tater tots evenly on top of the cheese and beef.
Bake the Casserole:
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
Remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top. Return to the oven and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve:
Garnish the casserole with fresh parsley or chives and chopped tomatoes (optional).
