Classic Crab Seafood Salad
This salad always brings back memories. It’s one of my childhood favorites, and now it’s become a go-to in my kitchen too. It’s budget-friendly, simple, and packed with flavor. Whether served as a light lunch, a sandwich filler, or alongside fresh greens, this classic Crab Seafood Salad never disappoints.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup celery, minced
- 1 lb imitation crab meat (krab meat), chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon dill
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 shallot, minced (or red onion as substitute)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the celery, chopped imitation crab, dill, mayonnaise, paprika, shallot, salt, and pepper.
- Gently mix until everything is well blended.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve chilled on its own, in sandwiches, or over a bed of lettuce with cherry tomatoes.
Recipe Notes
- This salad is even better the next day after the flavors have developed.
- For a healthier twist, swap out half of the mayo for Greek yogurt.
- Garnish with fresh dill or a sprinkle of paprika for an extra pop of color.
